Week 44


SOUTH KOREA!


We'd begin in Seoul at the Gyeonbok Imperial Palace and watch the guards on parade.



We'd stroll through the lovely Hyangwonjong Pavilion Lake.




We'd visit the living museum that is the village of Kyongju (and see this the Pulguksa Temple).



My husband wants to visit the Demilitarized Zone, but I'd rather try my bravery on the Steel Stairways of Wolchulsan.

Week 43


CHINA! (Just the northern part this week.)


We'd take a long stroll down as much of the Great Wall as our legs could handle.



We'd admire the gorgeous architecture of the Forbidden City. We'd also head out to tour the Summer Palace.



We'd visit the Terra Cotta Warriors of Xi'an.



We'd be mesmerized by the amazing Chinese acrobats.

Week 42


RUSSIA!


We'd visit the most gorgeous gingerbread house ever- St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow.



We'd watch the mesmerizing Russian Ballet dance Swan Lake.



We'd visit St. Petersburg and check out the State Hermitage Museum.



We'd shop for the delicate Matryoshkas (Russian Nesting Dolls).

Week 41


TURKEY! The crossroads of Europe and Asia.


My husband would love to visit Constantinople, but as we don't have a time machine we'd have to settle for Istanbul- ha ha! We'd visit the gorgeous Hagia Sophia.




We'd visit the Roman ruins in Ephesus.




We'd probably want to steer clear of Turkish baths, but we'd take dips in the Mediterranean and Black Seas.




We'd sample the many varieties of Turkish delight and get some fresh Baklava too!

Week 40


ISRAEL!


We'd begin our journey in Bethlehem. While there we would visit the Church of the Nativity.



Next, we'd visit Nazareth.



We'd take a boat ride down the River Jordan.



We'd end in Jerusalem. Jerusalem is a holy city for Jews, Christians, and Muslims. As we are Christians, we'd want to visit the Garden of Gethsemane, Golgotha, and the Garden Tomb. We'd also like to visit the Wailing Wall and the Dome of the Rock.
